The Boise Hawks (26-28, 5-11) fell to the Spokane Indians (25-29, 9-7) by a final score of 7-2 on Saturday night. The Hawks have now dropped the first two of three against Spokane in the five game series.

For the third night in a row, Spokane got runs in the first inning. After a single from Hasuan Viera and Curtis Terry, it was Diosbel Arias with a triple to give Spokane a 2-0 lead. Jax Biggers followed it up with an RBI-single and quickly the Indians had a 3-0 lead.

Nick Bush got two shutout innings in the 2nd and 3rd, but in the 4th, Starling Joseph led it off with his 8th home run of the year and Spokane grabbed a 4-0 lead.

Bush finishes his night going 4.1 innings-pitched allowing four runs on nine hits for Spokane. Bush left the game on an apparent injury as he threw one-pitch to Diosbel Arias in the 5th and left the game. Bush will go to 2-3 on the season as he gets the loss

Shelby Lackey took over and he went 1.2 innings-pitched of scoreless baseball. Lackey has not allowed a run in his last 17 innings-pitched and he lowers his ERA to 1.08.

Boise got on the board in the 6th off Spokane starter Yerry Rodriguez. A two-run home run for Cade Harris made it just 4-2 Indians. Rodriguez finishes with 6.2 innings-pitched and allows just two runs as he picks up the win in his Northwest League debut.

But Spokane had an answer in the 7th. It was two runs for the Indians on a wild pitch from Boise's Brad Schreiber and then a sacrifice fly for Hasuan Viera to make it 6-2 Indians.

In the 8th, with Eric Hepple on in relief, Joseph hit his second home run of the game to give Spokane a 7-2 advantage.

Peyton Gray threw a scoreless 9th for the Hawks, but Boise could not get the bats going and they fall 7-2.

The Hawks will return tomorrow for Game #4 of the five-game series with the Spokane Indians. First pitch is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. MT. Tomorrow will be Dog Day Sunday and Kids Club Sunday. Get your tickets at BoiseHawks.com or call 208-322-5000.
