LANSING, MI - The Bowling Green Hot Rods (26-16) beat the Lansing Lugnuts (28-15) this afternoon by a score of 9-6. The Hot Rods scored a season high six runs in the second inning, leading them to a series win.The Hot Rods got on the board in the first inning

LANSING, MI - The Bowling Green Hot Rods (26-16) beat the Lansing Lugnuts (28-15) this afternoon by a score of 9-6. The Hot Rods scored a season high six runs in the second inning, leading them to a series win.
The Hot Rods got on the board in the first inning on the strength of two hits, including an RBI triple from SS Taylor Walls , and it was 2-0 Bowling Green after a half inning.
The rally continued with the largest inning of the year offensively for the Hot Rods. They send 10 batters to the plate and scored six runs. LF Moises Gomez provided the back breaking hit, a three run double to right-center that made it 8-0 Hot Rods after two innings.
Bowling Green added to the lead in the fifth inning when RF Eleardo Cabrera hit an infield RBI single, which scored DH Ronaldo Hernandez , and it was 9-0 Hot Rods.
Lansing tried to stage a comeback, as they scored six unanswered runs from the fifth through seventh innings, but the Hot Rods were able to keep them at bay.
RHP Drew Strotman (3-0, 3.43) earned the win. He threw five innings, allowing two hits and two runs (both earned), walking four and striking out two. RHP Jhonleider Salinas earned his first career save, throwing the final two and two-thirds innings, allowing one walk and striking out two.
The Hot Rods will welcome in the Great Lakes Loons to Bowling Green Ballpark for a four game series beginning tomorrow night. First pitch is set for 6:35pm, and starters have not been announced.
