Hot Rods Come Back with 6-5 Win

BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods used an eighth inning comeback to take down the Quad Cities River Bandits by a score of 6-5. There were five lead changes in the game, but the Hot Rods were able to secure the win
The River Bandits were the first ones on the board in the second inning. DH Mart Costes started the inning with a double, and scored on an error that brought him home and it was 1-0 Quad Cities.
The Hot Rods responded to take the lead in the bottom of the frame. With the bases loaded 2B Vidal Brujan scored two with a single and the Hot Rods lead 2-1.
Quad Cities took the lead back in the fourth inning when RF Seth Beer hit a leadoff double, LF Chandler Taylor walked, and SS David Hensely brought them both home with a double and made the score 3-2 Quad Cities.
The Hot Rods responded in the bottom half of the frame once again, as Brujan walked with the bases loaded, and CF Carl Chester hit a sac fly to give Bowling Green the 4-3 lead.
In the sixth the River Bandits flipped the score in their favor one again thanks to a leadoff home run from Taylor and an RBI double from Hensley and suddenly the score was 5-4.
In the eighth inning the Hot Rods took the lead in the final lead change of the game. Chester score Brujan and RF Emilio Gustave with a double to give the Hot Rods the 6-5 lead. RHP Orlando Romero sent the River Bandits down 1-2-3 in the ninth at the Hot Rods won yet another series.
The Hot Rods have an off day tomorrow and then make the trip to Beloit. First pitch will be at 7:05pm CST in Beloit, and the starters have not been announced.
