Hot Rods Drop Game One 9-2 against Kane County

An early deficit proves too much for the Hot Rods to overcome

BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods dropped game one of a three game series against the Kane County Cougars 9-2 in their return home to Bowling Green Ballpark. The Cougars jumped out to an early lead, and the Hot Rods were never able to get the game

BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods dropped game one of a three game series against the Kane County Cougars 9-2 in their return home to Bowling Green Ballpark. The Cougars jumped out to an early lead, and the Hot Rods were never able to get the game back to tied.
The Cougars got on the board in the first inning when CF Luis Silverio started the game off with a double, he advanced to third on a passed ball, and scored on a double play that was hit to SS Taylor Walls and Kane County had a 1-0 lead.
In the second inning Kane County added on two more runs. LF Ryan Grotjohn hit a leadoff double, and 3B Eudy Ramos singled him home and it was 2-0. He advanced to second on a throw home to try and get Grotjohn then scored on two wild pitches to make it 3-0.
The Hot Rods got their first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning thanks to a solo home run from 3B Trey Hair , his first home run as a Hot Rod and the score was 3-1.
The Cougars scored two more run in the top of the third thanks to a two run home run from C Tim Susnara and Kane County lead 5-1. They added on another run in the fifth inning thanks to a solo home run from SS Jasaro Chisholm.
Bowling Green got its second run of the game in the sixth when CF Carl Chester singled, worked his way around the bases, and finally scored on a groundout from LF Moises Gomez
The Cougars got their final three run of the game in the top of the ninth. They started the frame with back to back singles before a ground rule double from DH Luis Lara scored one. 2B Jancarlos Cintron brought home two with a single and make the score 9-2.
The Hot Rods and Cougars will face off again tomorrow at 6:35pm CST. The Hot Rods will send RHP Tommy Romero (6-3, 2.10) and he will be opposed by former Hot Rods RHP Jayson McKinley (3-3, 3.55) for Kane County.
