Hot Rods Fall in Opener at Beloit, 7-3

BELOIT, WI - The Bowling Green Hot Rods fell 7-3 to the Beloit Snappers tonight at Pohlman Field. The Hot Rods scored first, but a three-run bottom of the third gave the Snappers a lead they did not relinquish.In the top of the third, 2B Vidal Brujan scored on CF

BELOIT, WI - The Bowling Green Hot Rods fell 7-3 to the Beloit Snappers tonight at Pohlman Field. The Hot Rods scored first, but a three-run bottom of the third gave the Snappers a lead they did not relinquish.
In the top of the third, 2B Vidal Brujan scored on CF Carl Chester 's RBI double to right field, giving the Hot Rods a 1-0 lead.
The Snappers took the lead on a three-run double in the bottom half of the inning and never looked back.
Bowling Green added runs in the sixth and seventh, but was not able to draw even.
Beloit responded with runs in the sixth and eighth to salt the game away, earning their 49th win of the season and their 17th of the second half.
The Hot Rods will look to even the series tomorrow night when they send RHP Tommy Romero (6-3, 2.29) to the hill. Beloit will counter with LHP Ivan Andueza (1-5, 4.95). First pitch from southern Wisconsin is set for 7:00pm Central time.
