BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Bowling Green Hot Rods secured at least series split with a 10-2 win over the Great Lakes Loons, and they'll look to win the series tomorrow. The Loons struck first thanks to a solo home run in the first, but the Hot Rods were able to come back and nab a comfortable win.
Things got off to a quick start for the Loons, as 3B Marcus Chiu hit a solo home run with one out in the first inning.
The Hot Rods responded quickly in the bottom of the second inning when LF Carl Chester worked a one out walk. That was followed with four straight walks or hit batters and the Hot Rods had a 2-1 lead. 2B Vidal Brujan scored two more with a single and the Hot Rods put together a four run inning.
Bowling Green added on two more in the bottom of the second inning thanks to a one out double from CF Moises Gomez and then RBI base hits from Brujan and 3B Zach Rutherford.   In the bottom of the sixth inning the Hot Rods added on three more courtesy of a Chester single, DH Chris Betts walk, and a fielder's choice from 1B Jim Haley . The Hot Rods exited the sixth with a 9-1 lead.
