The Loons first responded in the top of the second inning when DH Luke Heyer was hit by a pitch, and then scored on a double from C Hunter Feduccia and it was a 3-1 ballgame.

Things continued to go downhill for Bowling Green as 2B Devin Mann singled, advanced to second after a walk, stole third and scored on an error to give the Loons the lead. They added an insurance run before the inning ended thanks to a single from 1B
