MUDCATS STARTER: LHP Cam Roegner has tonight's start against the Astros at Jim Perry Stadium. OPP STARTER: LHP Brett Adcock heads to the mound for tonight's start against the Mudcats at Buies Creek. Adcock enters at 3-0-1 and has pitched to a 1.80 ERA with 40 strikeouts, 18 walks and a .112 average against over 30.0 innings, seven games and four starts this season. Adcock is currently just a couple of innings shy of officially qualifying for the CL lead in pitching. He is, however, currently 2nd in ERA (1.80) and 1st in average (.111) among pitchers with at least 30.0 innings this season. Adcock last pitched on May 13 in Myrtle Beach where he allowed three runs on one hit over 2.2 innings pitched. He also walked two and struck out four his last time out.
MUDDIES ON THE POND: Carolina is batting a CL low .236 with runners on base. They have additionally struck out a league high 192 times when batting with runners on base this season.
STRUGGLING LATE: Mudcats pitchers have combined to pitch to a 7.09 ERA (26 R, 21 ER, 23 BB, 29 SO) in the ninth inning so far this season.
