TONIGHT: The Mudcats continue a six game road trip tonight with the second game of a three game series versus the Buies Creek Astros at Jim Perry Stadium in Buies Creek, NC. 
ICYMI: Braden Webb struck out a career high eight, Max McDowell hit his first home run of the season and Tucker Neuhaus drove in two runs as the Mudcats snapped a three game losing streak with a 6-4 victory versus Buies Creek on Friday night at Jim Perry Stadium.
ABOUT THE LAST ONE: The Carolina offense walked a season high seven times in last night's series opening victory. Three of those seven walks were converted into runs... Last night's game ran a season long 3:36.
VS. BC: Tonight's game is the second of a three game series and the 9th of 28 total games between the Mudcats and Astros this season. Buies Creek leads the overall season series 5-3; with series wins between 4/19 and 4/22 in Zebulon (3-1) and 5/7 through 5/9 (2-1) at Buies Creek… Carolina is batting .202 with four home runs and 3.00 r/g against the Astros the year. MUDCATS STARTER: LHP Cam Roegner has tonight's start against the Astros at Jim Perry Stadium. Roegner is currently 4-1 and has pitched to a Carolina League best 0.89 ERA (4th in MiLB) over seven starts this season. He has also totaled 28 strikeouts, 12 walks and a .228 average against over 40.1 innings this season. Roegner last pitched on May 12 versus Wilmington and ended up earning his second straight win after pitching through seven scoreless innings with just two hits allowed. Overall, Roegner has pitched through six scoreless outings so far this season and has totaled five quality starts so far this season.
P.O.W: Cam Roegner was named the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending on May 13. Roegner went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA and totaled seven strikeouts, three walks, four hits and a 0.51 WHIP over his two starts between May 7 and May 13. He is the third Mudcats player earn player of the week honors this season. Outfielder Ryan Aguilar earned Carolina League Player of the Week award honors for the week of April 16 through April 22. Outfielder/infielder Weston Wilson then won the same award the following week, April 23 through April 29.
OPP STARTER: LHP Brett Adcock heads to the mound for tonight's start against the Mudcats at Buies Creek. Adcock enters at 3-0-1 and has pitched to a 1.80 ERA with 40 strikeouts, 18 walks and a .112 average against over 30.0 innings, seven games and four starts this season. Adcock is currently just a couple of innings shy of officially qualifying for the CL lead in pitching. He is, however, currently 2nd in ERA (1.80) and 1st in average (.111) among pitchers with at least 30.0 innings this season. Adcock last pitched on May 13 in Myrtle Beach where he allowed three runs on one hit over 2.2 innings pitched. He also walked two and struck out four his last time out.
MUDDIES ON THE POND: Carolina is batting a CL low .236 with runners on base. They have additionally struck out a league high 192 times when batting with runners on base this season.
STRUGGLING LATE: Mudcats pitchers have combined to pitch to a 7.09 ERA (26 R, 21 ER, 23 BB, 29 SO) in the ninth inning so far this season. The Carolina offense, meanwhile, has combined to total just four runs in the ninth inning of games this season… Carolina is a league worst 17-8 when leading after six innings this season. They are also a league worst 16-6 when leading after seven.

GOT HEEEM: Max McDowell leads MiLB catchers in most caught steals (25) and is 2nd in caught stealing/stolen base efficiency (.568) for catchers with at least 20 attempts against... McDowell caught four base runners attempting to steal and picked off another at first on Opening Night, 4/5 vs. Winston-Salem. McDowell and the Mudcats later allowed six stolen bases on 4/19 vs. Buies Creek.

ALUMNI REPORT: Troy Stokes Jr. (2017) homered for the third straight game while going 2-for-3 with a double and a home run last night in Double-A Biloxi's 3-2 loss to Chattanooga. Stokes has now totaled five home runs this season and is batting .237/.344/.423 with 37 hits, 12 doubles and 20 RBI in 41 games with Biloxi.
