Chattanooga Loses to Birmingham, 7-3

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Chattanooga Lookouts dropped game five of the series to the Birmingham Barons, 7-3, on Saturday night from AT&T Field.

Alex McGarry extended his hit streak to 15 games with an RBI single in the bottom of the first to trim the Baron lead to one.

Birmingham (35-39) tacked on three more runs in the second and two more in the fourth to jump out to a, 7-1, lead through three and a half innings.

Chattanooga (35-39) added two runs in the fourth with a Nick Quintana double to score Allan Cerda and an Ivan Johnson RBI single to cut the lead to four but could not get any closer.

Cerda paced the Lookout offense finishing the game 2-for-4 with a double. Connor Curlis (2-6) got the start and loss on the mound pitching three innings giving up seven runs (six earned), eight hits, two walks and struck out six batters.

Raudy Read led the Birmingham attack going 4-for-5 with three doubles, a home run, and an RBI. Sam Peralta (4-3) got the win on the mound for the guests pitching 3.1 innings in relief retiring every batter he faced, and striking out five.

Chattanooga will meet Birmingham again on Sunday for the series finale at AT&T field beginning at 6:15 p.m.
