CORPUS CHRISTI - Iconic Tejano musician Little Joe celebrates his 79th birthday Saturday night with a live recording of Little Joe's Birthday Bash: Tex Mex Fest at Whataburger Field.
Two-time Tejano Music Award nominee Sarah Monique kicks off the all-night fiesta at 4:30 p.m., followed by Latin music legends David Farias, Roberto Pulido and Tierra. Little Joe y la Familia is slated to take the stage at approximately 10:30 p.m.

Field access tickets, on sale for $35, are standing room only. Concert goers with on-field tickets are permitted to bring a folding chair. Reserved seating in the stadium bowl is available for $25. Parking at Whataburger Field is $10.
VIP passes are sold out, but patrons are being offered a Suite Seats package, which is priced at $100. The Suite Seats include Cotton Club and field access, one parking pass and a meet and greet photo opportunity with Little Joe. Suite Seats availability is limited, so act now.
Gates for Little Joe's Birthday Bash: Tex Mex Fest, operated by the Corpus Christi Hooks and hosted by comedian Gilbert Esquivel, will open at 4 p.m.
To commemorate the celebration, Tex Mex Fest at Whataburger Field will be taped live for a DVD/CD, which Little Joe announced would be his final live recording.
Established in 1959, Little Joe y La Familia quickly became one of the top Tejano bands in the U.S. Little Joe received the Smithsonian's Lifetime Legend Award in 2001. Little Joe y La Familia was recognized with a 1991 Grammy for Best Mexican-American Album for Diez y Seis de Septiembre, and Tejano Album of the Year Grammys for Before the Next Teardrop Falls in 2008 and Recuerdos in 2011. Overall, he has won five Grammys from 11 nominations.
