WICHITA – Jayden Murray, Matt Ruppenthal and Jose Bravo held the Wind Surge to three hits Wednesday night as the Hooks blanked Wichita, 3-0, at Riverfront Stadium.

Corpus Christi netted its three runs via a trio of two-out RBI singles. Joe Perez came through in the fifth, Shay Whitcomb delivered in the sixth and Will Wagner provided insurance in the ninth.

Perez led the way offensively, going 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles.

Murray, making his Astros system debut after being acquired at last week’s trade deadline, struck out five against two walks and one hit over 3 2/3 innings.

Ruppenthal permitted just two base runners and recorded four outs to pick up the win.

Bravo stranded a pair of singles over four innings of work and retired the last 10 men in order to nail down the save.

The effort marked the sixth Hooks win by way of shutout, and the second in eight games.
