CORPUS CHRISTI - Carlos Rincon's 10th-inning, two-run homer gave the Tulsa Drillers a 6-4 win over the Hooks Saturday night at Whataburger Field.
Stephen Wrenn carried the game to extras with a pair of game tying homers. The first tied the game at deuces in the sixth, while an eighth-inning two-run shot (8) tied it at 4-4.
Tulsa struck first with back-to-back doubles by Thomas and Wong in the second inning off Brett Conine.
Jake Adams tied the score in the fourth against Leo Crawford with a 435-foot blast (7), his second mammoth clout this week. Wong responded with a solo shot of his own in the sixth.
In the seventh inning in a 2-2 game, reliever Andre Scrubb loaded the bases on two singles and walk. He then walked Cody Thomas and Connor Wong consecutively, giving Tulsa the 4-2 lead until Wrenn tied it again.
Carlos Sanabria (L, 4-3) surrendered the game-winning blast to Rincon to start the 10th inning.
Conine completed 6.0 innings on seven hits and a walk with five punchouts. Crawford went 5.1 innings on four hits with a free pass and five strikeouts.
Shea Spitzbarth (W, 3-3) worked 2.0 scoreless innings with four strikeouts, while Nathan Long (S, 6) secured the final two outs.
The Hooks will honor longtime President Ken Schrom on Sunday with a ceremony beginning at 1:55 p.m. The first 1,500 fans at the stadium will receive a commemorative Ken Schrom Bobblehead, presented by ValueBank Texas. Brandon Bailey (4-5, 4.50) and Markus Solbach (4-1, 3.15) will match up in the 2:15 tilt.
