Series Preview: Only 18 Games Left at The Diamond!

The Flying Squirrels are back in Richmond after two weeks on the road! The team will host the Altoona Curve, Double-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, from Tuesday, August 12 through Sunday, August 17. The Altoona Curve are atop the Eastern League Southwest division by a slim margin above the Flying Squirrels.

The Flying Squirrels come back to The Diamond with some fresh faces, including pitchers Cameron Pferrer, Shane Rademacher, Tyler Vogel and Tristan Vrieling as well as infielder Dayson Croes.

The series kicks off with a night all about Virginia’s favorite nut, the peanut, and includes a T-shirt giveaway you won’t want to miss. Other highlights include two fireworks shows, Back to Teaching Night and a Taylor Swift-inspired night of FUNN.

With only 18 games remaining at The Diamond before the Flying Squirrels move into CarMax Park, join in on the FUNN before the end of the season. The final game at The Diamond will take place on Sunday, September 14th and has very limited tickets available. Tuesday, August 12 vs. Altoona Curve: Salute to the Peanut Night with T-shirt Giveaway

You can’t have FUNN without going nuts! We’re celebrating Virginia’s favorite nut, the peanut.

• The first 1,000 fans ages 15 and older will go home with a ‘You Can’t Have FUNN Without Going Nuts’ T-shirt, sizes XS to XXXL while supplies last.

• Fans are encouraged to bring a jar of peanut butter for a peanut butter drive benefitting Feed More. Fans who bring a jar will get a raffle ticket and be entered to win a Flying Squirrels prize pack!

• Learn about Virginia’s peanut farming legacy from local growers on the main stage.

• It’s also the next Silver Squirrels game. Fans ages 55 and older are eligible to join the Silver Squirrels club presented by OrthoVirginia and receive member benefits, including tickets to every Tuesday home game, an exclusive T-shirt and a concession voucher. Wednesday, August 13 vs. Altoona Curve: Back to Teaching Night

Calling all teachers and school faculty! Have FUNN before school starts back up at The Diamond.

• All teachers and school faculty can receive a complimentary General Admission ticket to the game by presenting their school IDs at the ticket booth or the Flying Squirrel Front Office.

• Enjoy pregame jams from the Flying Squirrels’ own Batter Up Brass Band.

• Dogs are admitted FREE in sections 101-103, 201-203 and first base General Admission. Please request a dog-friendly section if accompanied by a pet.

• Enjoy $7 glasses of wine and wine slushies from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Wine Cart located on the main concourse across from Gilbane Fan Services.

• Listen to pregame music on the stage from the Mechanicsville Christian Center.

• Flying Squirrels players will talk about their experiences with faith pregame on the dugout.

Friday, August 15 vs. Pesces Dorados: Ardillas Voladoras Night with Wrestling Mask Giveaway and Happy Hour
