Senators Best SeaWolves on Tuesday

The Senators struck first in the top of the first inning against SeaWolves starter Alex Faedo when Carter Kieboom connected on a one-out, solo home run for a 1-0 lead.
Erie responded in the top of the second against Senators starter César Vargas. Jake Rogers led off and connected on his team-leading 15th home run to make it a 1-1 game.
Harrisburg regained the lead in the top of the third. Kieboom led off with a triple and Daniel Johnson homered to make it 3-1. With one out, Dan Gamache doubled and scored on a Jake Noll base hit for a 4-1 lead.
The 'Wolves got one back in the last of the third. Josh Lester led off with a walk and moved into scoring position on an Isaac Paredes single. Danny Woodrow singled home Lester making it a 4-2 game.
Harrisburg went ahead 6-2 in the top of the fourth. Drew Ward led off with a walk and Kieboom belted his second home run of the game.
The 'Wolves went to the bullpen in the top of the fifth and brought in Nick Tepesch. Tepesch retired the first two batters of the inning before giving up a two-out double to Noll. Keller singled home Noll for a 7-2 lead. Ward and Austin Davidson followed with back-to-back singles to plate Keller for a 8-2 lead.
In the top of the sixth, Kieboom led off with a walk and moved to second on a Raudy Read base hit. Gamache singled home Kieboom for a 9-2 Senators advantage.
Harrisburg would add six runs in the seventh against three Erie relievers to go ahead 15-2.
Erie plated a final run in the bottom of the eighth against reliever Derek Self. Rogers led off with a double and moved to third on a Woodrow groundout. Rogers scored on a Kody Eaves sacrifice fly making it 15-3.
Vargas (1-1) earned the win for the Senators allowing two runs on six hits with four walks and seven strikeouts in five innings.
Faedo (1-5) took the loss allowing six runs on seven hits with three walks and three strikeouts in 3.2 innings of work.
The SeaWolves and Senators wrap up the series on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. Righty A.J. Ladwig (4-0, 2.38 ERA) takes the mound for Erie against RHP Jaron Long (4-8, 3.72 ERA).
