JUPITER, Fla. - Taylor Grzelakowski went deep, but the Palm Beach Cardinals rallied late again to beat the Miracle, 3-2, in 10 innings on Thursday night at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
Grzelakowski's home run tied the game in the fifth inning, 1-1. It was his sixth of the season, tying him for the team lead. The Miracle took the lead in the sixth on an unearned run. Travis Blankenhorn singled with two out, stole second, and scored on a fielding error by Palm Beach shortstop Kramer Robertson.
The Cardinals tied the game in the bottom of the eighth on a solo homer by Chase Pinder, just his second of the season. Pinder scored the winning run in the 10th inning on a Shane Billings single with two out.
Charlie Barnes started for the Miracle and allowed just two hits and one run in 5.2 innings. He walked three and struck out five.
The Miracle out-hit the Cardinals, 10-6. It was their third straight game with double digit hits, but they dropped three of four in the series. All of the losses were one-run games.
The Miracle have Friday-Sunday off for the All-Star Break. They resume play on Monday at Hammond Stadium in Fort Myers when they welcome in the Tampa Tarpons for the first of three games. First pitch is 7:00 p.m.
