Media and Credential Information

Credential Requests

Media credentials shall be issued to working members of the media only and are non-transferable. Any unauthorized use of a credential shall result in confiscation of the credential and ejection from Parkview Field.

Subject to space availability, credentials will be issued to recognized newspapers, magazines, television stations and radio stations making reasonable requests in writing at least one day in advance of any game to be covered. Please e-mail credential requests to Broadcasting and Media Relations Manager Jaden Taylor ([email protected]). Credentials may be picked up at the ticket office of Parkview Field located at the crossroads of Ewing Street and Brackenridge Street beginning four hours before game time.

The TinCaps shall issue full-season credentials to those media members who will cover the team at Parkview Field on a daily basis throughout the season. Credentials will be issued on a game-by-game basis to members of the media who expect to cover the team periodically throughout the season.

Credentials provide access to areas of Parkview Field as designated on each individual pass.

PHOTO/INTERVIEW REQUESTS: Requests for photos or interviews of TinCaps players or coaches should be made with as much advance notice as possible. Call (402) 980-1520 or e-mail Jaden Taylor ([email protected]) with requests. The TinCaps will attempt to coordinate all interview requests made by legitimate news sources to the player or coach, but cannot guarantee the player or coach will comply with all interview requests.

Media Guidelines and Protocols

MEDIA ENTRY TO PARKVIEW FIELD: All credential holders should enter Parkview Field through the employee entrance adjacent to the media parking lot (Diamond Lot) on Brackenridge Street. Media members must sign in at the front desk or with security at the staff gate. No members of the media may enter any promotion or contest. Media members may not join any part of a TinCaps season ticket holder rewards program. It is expected that credentials only be used by media members actively covering that night’s game.

MEDIA PARKING: There are a limited number of media parking spots in the Diamond Lot next to the ballpark on Brackenridge Street, including spots specifically for live TV broadcast vehicles. To gain access to the Diamond Lot, show your media credential to the lot attendant. It is expected that only media members on assignment use media parking spots. Availability is NOT guaranteed.

PRESS BOX: The Parkview Field press box is located on Level 2 of Parkview Field, up the ramp from the Suite Level lounge. To access the press box from the ground level, take the elevator or stairs behind home plate to Level 2. Persons without credentials will not be admitted. There is a very limited seating area in the press box for working media and seating is NOT guaranteed to be available for all games. Only accredited members of the working media on assignment are eligible for press box seating. The TinCaps ask for the cooperation of the media in maintaining a professional working environment. Cheering or any other disruptive behavior in the press box shall result in credential revocation and ejection from the ballpark.

CLUBHOUSE ACCESS: The clubhouses are located in the lower level of Parkview Field. Clubhouses are not open for members of the media without the consent of the Fort Wayne TinCaps.

FIELD ACCESS: Members of the media whose credentials provide for field access are asked to be respectful of players and coaches who are preparing for a game, and, for their own safety, to remain in foul territory, between first and third base at all times. Unless conducting an interview, members of the media are asked to refrain from sitting in the dugouts and standing near the batting cage during batting practice. No one under the age of 18 is permitted on the field, and personal photographs and autographs are strictly prohibited. All media must clear the field 30 minutes prior to the start of the game unless special permission has been granted. The TinCaps are not responsible for any injuries that may be incurred while on the field.

MEDIA DINING: A meal is served each game in the press box for all working members of the media until 30 minutes after first pitch. Complimentary cold beverages will be provided throughout the game. No food or drink is to leave the press box. GAME INFORMATION: Statistics and game notes for both clubs are made online at TinCaps.com/Pressbox, and in the press box at least two hours prior to game time. Rosters and starting lineups for both teams are distributed as soon as they are available and can be picked up in the front office, at Indiana Lasik Centers Guest Services, or in the press box. Following the game, official box scores will be made available as soon as possible. Game recap stories will be available at TinCaps.com and through our media distribution list.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Photo credentials are issued in the same manner as working media passes. Due to the limited number of photo locations, the TinCaps recommend that requests be submitted as early as possible. Still photographers should shoot from the photo wells attached to each dugout, staying clear of TinCaps team photographers. Videographers should use the designated locations behind sections 105, 108 and 111. Any other photography should be cleared in advance by the TinCaps Media Relations department.

ROVING CAMERAS: Any camera light in the seating area of Parkview Field is strictly prohibited. Interviews and live broadcasts are not permitted in the ballpark during the game unless approved by the TinCaps Media Relations department. If approved, interviews may only be conducted on the concourse between innings, not in the stands while the game is in progress.

WIRELESS INTERNET: Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in the press box. Ethernet access is also available. Contact the Media Relations department for details and login information.

FREELANCE WRITERS/PHOTOGRAPHERS: Freelance writers and photographers may not request their own credentials. The editor or sports director employing the freelancer must provide a credential request for specific games at least 24 hours in advance of that game.

WEBSITES: Per Major League Baseball guidelines, the TinCaps will not issue working credentials to any online service or blogger unless they meet each of the following criteria:

• It is part of a regional or national news gathering agency.

• It reaches a broad audience.

• It produces original content.

• It has an established record of developing original content.

• It employs full-time journalists.
