Donald Moore is entering his 18th season as President and General Manager of the Greensboro Grasshoppers.
Under his leadership, the team has become one of the most successful franchises in minor league baseball. He and his staff have won numerous awards since the team relocated to First National Bank Field in 2005, including six General Manager of the Year Awards, and six South Atlantic League Club Merit Awards. In 2008, Baseball America recognized the Grasshoppers as the Most Outstanding Single-A Organization in the country.
Moore has received several civic awards, including Father of the Year and Unsung Community Hero Award. In addition he was inducted into the Guilford County Sports Hall of Fame in 2010.
Moore is a graduate of Page High School, where he played three sports, and NC State University.
In addition, he chaired the Pizza Hut Invitational for five years and helped grow it into the largest, most successful high school basketball tournament in North Carolina.
Moore currently sits on several local boards and is a past President of the Greensboro Sports Council. He also coached local youth sports teams for over twenty years, and his 1999 14-U Greensboro Warriors were the National Invitational Basketball Champions.
Donald and his wife Kim have two grown children, Allison and Donald, Jr.
