Somerset, NJ- Isaac Collins cracked a go-ahead two-out RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning helping the Hartford Yard Goats to a 4-2 victory against the Somerset Patriots on Thursday afternoon at TD Bank Ballpark in New Jersey. Daniel Cope had three hits and drove in two runs, and starter Noah Davis hurled six solid innings with five strikeouts as the Yard Goats ended a season-high five-game losing streak.

The Yard Goats scored the first run of the game in the second innings off Somerset starter Will Warren. Daniel Cope belted a two-out RBI single to left field, scoring Daniel Montano from second base making it 1-0 Hartford. The Yard Goats added a run in the fourth inning on Brenton Doyle's double-play grounder.

Somerset left five runners on base over the first three innings off Yard Goats starter Noah Davis. After retiring six consecutive batters, the Patriots threatened off the righty again in the fifth. With runners at first and second base, Davis struck out Brandon Lockridge to end the inning. Somerset tied the game on Max Burt's two-out two-run home run in the sixth inning.

Tied 2-2 in the seventh the Yard Goats rallied for a run. Tyler Hill singled and stole second and third base. After Daniel Cope walked, Isaac Collins followed with a double to right field, scoring Hill and giving the Yard Goats a 3-2 lead. Hartford added a run in the ninth as Cope smashed a run-scoring single to make it 4-2.

The Yard Goats bullpen was impressive and retired 9 of the final 12 batters, allowing only a single and a pair of walks. Stephen Jones worked the seventh and eighth, and Gavin Hollowell pitched the ninth for his team-leading 14th save.

The Yard Goats and Patriots continue the six-game series in New Jersey on Friday night (7:05 PM). RHP Mike Ruff will start for the Yard Goats and RHP Deivi Garcia will pitch for the Patriots. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1410, FM 100.9 and the iheart radio app. The Yard Goats return home next Tuesday, August 16th to Dunkin' Donuts Park to host the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
