Hartford, CT- Somerset Patriots left fielder Michael Beltre hit a go-ahead two-run home run in the sixth inning leading the New York Yankees affiliate to a 4-1 victory against the Yard Goats on Tuesday night at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford. The Yard Goats had an early 1-0 lead on Matt McLaughlin’s home run in the third inning. Hartford starter Matt Dennis extended his consecutive scoreless innings streak to 15.2 before allowing a run on a wild pitch in the third inning. Somerset starter Ken Waldichuk and three relievers combined to strikeouts 17 batters. The Yard Goats played as the road team as this series was originally scheduled to be played in New Jersey.

The Yard Goats took a 1-0 lead in the third inning as Matt McLaughlin cranked a solo home run into the left field bullpen off Somerset starter Ken Waldichuk. The Patriots tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the inning as Jesus Bastidas scored on a wild pitch with two out.

Somerset took a 3-1 lead in the sixth inning as Michael Beltre cranked a go-ahead two-run homer over the left field fence off Hartford starter Matt Dennis. The Patriots added a run in the seventh inning with a two-out rally. Bastidas had a single and took second base on a hit by Jason Lopez. Brandon Lockridge followed with an RBI single, scoring Bastidas to make it 4-1.
