Hartford, CT -- Yard Goats infielder Elehuris Montero went 4-4, including a home run and 3 RBI leading Hartford to a 9-6 victory against the Altoona Curve on Sunday night in front of a capacity crowd at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford. Montero had singles in his first two at-bats, gave the Yard Goats the lead with a two-run hit in the fifth inning, and ended his tremendous night with a solo home run in the seventh, his ninth of the year. The Yard Goats took three of five games against the Curve to win and have a three-game win-streak.

The Curve took the lead two batters into the game as Canaan Smith-Njigba cranked a two-run homer off Hartford starter Nate Harris, giving Altoona a 2-0 lead. The Yard Goats came back in the bottom of the inning. Jameson Hannah led off with a double and Sean Bouchard cranked a two-run homer into the left field seats and tied the game 2-2. Taylor Snyder followed with a solo homer, his league leading 15th of the season.

Altoona tied the game with a solo homer by Rodolfo Castro in the third inning and took a 4-3 lead on Cal Mitchell’s homer in the fourth inning.

However, the Yard Goats took advantage of five walks in the fifth inning to take the lead. Coco Montes walked with the bases loaded to tie the game at 4-4. Next Montero followed with a two-run single, scoring Sean Bouchard and Taylor Snyder to make it 6-4 Hartford.

The Yard Goats added two more runs in the sixth inning and Montero completed his perfect 4-4 night with a solo homer in the seventh. Will Gaddis pitched 2.1 scoreless innings for his first Double-A win and Reagan Todd worked the ninth for his third save.

The Yard Goats begin a six-game road trip against the Portland Sea Dogs on Tuesday night at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. The game will be broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and FM 100.9 FM and newsradio1410.iheart.com.
