Hartford, CT- The Yard Goats scored ten runs in a 10-5 victory over the Reading Fightin Phils on Friday evening at Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford. Infielder Coco Montes broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run triple in the fifth inning, and starter David Hill pitched six solid innings as the Yard Goats defeated the Fightins for the second time in four games. Max George smashed a solo home run and Matt Hearn and Casey Golden each had two hits for the Yard Goats.

The Yard Goats scored runs in each of the first three innings against Reading starter Tyler Phillips to take a 3-0 lead. Matt Hearn led off the first inning with a single, stole second and stole third, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Sean Bouchard, giving Hartford a 1-0 lead. The Yard Goats made it 2-0 in the second inning on Max George’s towering home run that landed in the left field bullpen. Hartford scored its third run as Jameson Hannah came in from second base on an error in the outfield, giving the Yard Goats a 3-0 lead.

The Fightins scored their first run of the game on Major League veteran Matt Joyce’s solo home run in the fourth inning off Hartford starter David Hill. Joyce, who has been on a MLB rehab assignment with the Philadelphia Phillies all week in Hartford, homered into the left field seats to make it a 3-1 game. In the fifth inning, Matt Kroon cranked a two-run homer to tie the game at 3-3.

The Yard Goats scored three runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-3 lead. Jameson Hannah reached on an error, and Sean Bouchard doubled, putting runners at second and third base with one out. Coco Montes then cracked a triple off the LED ribbonboard in right centerfield, scoring Hannah and Bouchard, giving Hartford a 5-3 lead. Casey Golden followed with an RBI single bringing home Montes to make it 6-3.

Hartford rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to take a 10-3 lead. The inning was highlighted by an RBI triple by Casey Golden and RBI singles by Jose Gomez and Matt McLaughlin.
