Hartford, Connecticut- Warming Bernabel and Bladimir Restituyo each had three hits, including a home run, as the Hartford Yard Goats beat the Bowie Baysox, 7-4 on Sunday at Dunkin Park. Bernabel and Restituyo each hit their first home runs of the season in a 15-hit effort helping the Yard Goats take four of six games on their opening homestand. The Yard Goats are 5-2 and in first place in the Eastern League’s Northeast Division.

The Baysox scored the first run of the game on an Anthony Servideo single that brought home T.T. Bowens to make the score 1-0.

Bernabel led off the second inning with a home run to left field, against Baysox starter Trace Bright to knot the score at one apiece.

Restituyo led off the third inning with a go-ahead home run to give the Yard Goats a 2-1 lead.

Bernabel reached base again in the fourth inning on a single, and with two outs Zach Kokoska drove in Bernabel giving the Yard Goats a 3-1 lead.

The Yard Goats added some insurance on four runs in the seventh inning. With one out, Restituyo and Sterlin Thompson reached on back-to-back singles. The Central Connecticut State University alumni Bowens hit a three-run home run off Yard Goats reliever Seth Halvorsen in the eighth inning to bring the score to 7-4.
