Hickory, NC- The Hickory Crawdads dropped a 2-1 decision on Education Day against the Greensboro Grasshoppers at LP Frans Stadium on Wednesday.

Ryan Lobus, promoted from Down East this week, left Kinston with a 3-0 record and a solid 1.53 ERA in six appearances. He would make the start in hopes of ending a three-game losing skid to the Grasshoppers.

For Lobus, he would acquit himself nicely, allowing just two runs on four hits in 4.2 innings. He would punch out seven Greensboro hitters, keeping pace with his 25 strikeouts in 17.2 innings in the Carolina League.

Offensively, Konner Piotto collected two hits for the Crawdads, moving his OPS% to a team-high .740 on the season.

Quincy Scott singled home Sebastian Walcott in the sixth inning, his 16th RBI of the year. The 16 RBI is tops on the team.

The Crawdads bullpen continued to impress, as the relief corps tossed 4.1 innings of scoreless relief, striking out seven Grasshoppers in the process.

Hickory continues their seven-game series against Greensboro with a twinbill Thursday beginning at 5pm. The second game will serve as a makeup for the April 21st rainout in Greensboro, with the Grasshoppers designated as the home team in that contest. Airtime on the Crawdads Radio Network will begin at 4:45pm with the pregame show.
