Seise Delivers Walk-Off Homer

Hickory, NC- The Crawdads’ win streak hit four on Thursday night as Chris Seise delivered a walk-off two run homer to give the ‘Dads a 4-3 victory against the Greenville Drive.

The Crawdads got the scoring started in the bottom of the first inning, getting a run across. Aaron Zavala was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and got himself in scoring position with his fifth steal of the season. Keyber Rodriguez singled to center, sending in Zavala for the first run of the game.

Greenville put together a pair of runs in the third inning to pull ahead 2-1.

The ‘Dads responded in the bottom half of the third to even the score at 2. Randy Florentino singled to start the inning and moved up on a walk by Zavala. Rodriguez was hit by a pitch, loading the bases. Thomas Saggese hit into a double play, but Florentino was able to come home to score the tying run.

The Drive pulled back ahead in the fourth inning with a run, bringing the score to 3-2.

Crawdads starting pitcher Nick Krauth wrapped up his evening after five innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits and two walks. He struck out two batters. Triston Polley tossed two innings in relief, allowing one hit and no walks while striking out four. Marc Church came in for the eighth and ninth inning, matching Polley’s stat line.

Cristian Inoa singled to left with one out in the bottom of the ninth to start the game-winning rally for the ‘Dads. Down 0-2 in the count, Chris Seise homered to right, bringing in the tying and winning runs and giving the Crawdads their first walk-off of the season.

The ‘Dads will square off again tomorrow night against the Drive in game four of the series. Following the game, the ‘Dads will shoot off fireworks thanks to Sheds Direct and WHKY 1290AM and 102.3FM. It will also be Villains Night and fans came come dressed as their favorite villain for a discounted $6 ticket. Friday will also wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week where school faculty members can get a free ticket while family and friends can purchase discounted $6 tickets.
