HILLSBORO, OR (June 10, 2019) - The Hillsboro Hops (@HillsboroHops), in conjunction with their parent club, the Arizona Diamondbacks, released their Opening Day roster on Monday.
The 28-player roster features ten players who were with the club for all or part of Hillsboro's 2018 run to the Northwest League playoffs. LHP Trevor McKenna, C Ryan January and C/1B Andy Yerzy were each with Hillsboro for the entire 2018 season, while pitchers Adrian Del Moral, Harrison Francis, Luis Frias, Justin Garcia and Franklyn Soriano spent a significant portion of last season with the Hops. P Jake Polancic and INF David Garza Jr. were with Hillsboro briefly in 2018.

The initial roster also includes two 2019 draft picks: INF Nick Grande (17th round, Stony Brook University) and INF Ricky Martinez (18th round, U of Tennessee). Other 2019 draft picks are expected to join the Hops in the coming weeks.
Four players listed among the Diamondbacks' top 30 prospects at MLBpipeline.com are on the roster: OF Kristian Robinson (ranked #5), C/1B Andy Yerzy (ranked #12), RHP Harrison Francis (ranked #21) and OF Jorge Barrosa (ranked #22). (Selections from 2019 are not yet eligible for that list.)
The Hops open play on Friday on the road against archrival Eugene at 7:05PM, with the game airing on Rip City Radio 620AM. Hillsboro kicks off their home opening weekend on Friday, June 21st at 7:05 PM against Vancouver. The Hops-the 2014 and 2015 Northwest League champions-will be seeking their sixth consecutive playoff appearance, which would set a new league record.
