Hot Rods 2017 Season Schedule Released

Bowling Green hosts Fort Wayne on April 6 to start season slate

Bowling Green, KY - Just days after the conclusion of the most successful year in franchise history, the Bowling Green Hot Rods released their 2017 Midwest League regular season schedule on Wednesday.

The Hot Rods will open their 2017 campaign at home against the Fort Wayne TinCaps on Thursday, April 6. They will play two games at Bowling Green Ballpark and then head to Fort Wayne to play two games at Parkview Field. The Hot Rods will then head back to Southcentral Kentucky for a six-game homestand, capping off a stretch where they will play eight of their first ten games of the regular season at home.

"With this past year being the best in franchise history both on the field and in the ballpark with our fans and promotions, we are excited to start planning for the 2017 season," said Hot Rods General Manager Eric Leach.

"April 6 against the Fort Wayne TinCaps can't come soon enough."

Other highlights from the schedule release include the Hot Rods being home on Memorial Day weekend against the Lake County Captains, July 4 against the Dayton Dragons and Labor Day weekend against the South Bend Cubs.

The Hot Rods will also have two different eight-game homestands, with one being fro May 22 - 29 against Lake County and South Bend. The other is from August 14 - 21 with Lake County and the West Michigan Whitecaps coming to town.

Away from the Commonwealth, the Hot Rods will enjoy an eleven-game roadtrip in four different cities from June 1 - 12 and a ten-game roadtrip in three different cities from August 22 - September 1.

From the Western division, Bowling Green will host the Quad Cities River Bandits and the Cedar Rapids Kernels in May with the Burlington Bees and Peoria Chiefs coming to town in July. The Hot Rods will travel to the Wisconsin TimberRattlers and Beloit Snappers in May while taking a trip to the Kane County Cougars and Clinton LumberKings in July.

Overall, the Hot Rods will play Fort Wayne and Lake County a season-high 18 times.

Game times as well as a promotional schedule for the 2017 season will be released at a later date.
