After winning the first two games of the series, the Lake Elsinore Storm were looking for a dominant series to keep them in the hunt for the first half Cal League South Division Crown. Unfortunately, instead, they dropped three of the next four games including a 6-0 bludgeoning today for Father's Day.

It began with trouble as Storm starter, Miguel Mendez, walked the first batter he faced. A stolen base later and a runner was in scoring position with no outs in the very first inning. Mendez was able to get out of the inning without surrendering a run, however, it proved how dangerous the Ports were set on being today.

In the second, Mendez wasn't quite as lucky. After starting the inning with consecutive outs, he allowed the next four runners to reach base and included a wild pitch and two stolen bases. This would put the Ports on top by a score of 3-0.

At the plate, the Storm couldn't manufacture much. They were held hitless 5.2 innings into the ballgame and it wasn't until Kai Murphy's single in the bottom of the sixth that they broke up the no-hit bid. However, they would accrue just two additional hits and would fall meekly to the Stockton Ports by a final score of 6-0. In addition, top prospect, Ethan Salas, would have his first professional game without reaching base. He would go 0-4 with three men left on base.

The Storm will now travel to Rancho Cucamonga where they will face the first half division champion Quakes.
