Catcher Austin Athmann singled in Cam Gibson in the first inning to give Lakeland an early 1-0 lead. Palm Beach quickly answered with two runs in the third on back-to-back singles from Shane Billings and Dylan Carlson.
The game remained 2-1 until the sixth inning, when Cameron blasted his second home run of the season, a solo shot to left. Danny Hudzina responded with an RBI double in the top of the seventh off Wladimir Pinto, who allowed two runs but picked up the win in his Flying Tigers debut.
Trailing 4-2 in the seventh, the Flying Tigers launched two two-run homers off the bats of Anthony Pereira and Daz Cameron to flip the script and take a 6-4 lead. The moonshot by Cameron gave him his second career multi-homer game and first since April 9, 2017. Dylan Burdeaux extended the lead in the eighth with yet another two-run shot, his third homer in the past two games.
Up Next: The Flying Tigers send righty Tom de Blok (2-3, 7.16 ERA) to the mound as they travel to Dunedin on Thursday to take on the Blue Jays at 6:30 p.m. The opener of the four-game series marks the beginning of a 9-game, 8-day stretch away from Publix Field.
The Flying Tigers return home for a four-game series on Friday, June 1st to take on the Daytona Tortugas. Due to a postponement in Daytona on May 6, Friday will feature two seven-inning games, beginning at 5:00 p.m. One ticket is valid for admission to both seven inning events. Fans can meet and greet with the Snow Queen and Ice Princess, Little Mermaid, Island Princess, and Belle from 5:30-7:30 in the concourse. The first 300 paid tickets to enter the gate will receive a pair of MLB Network sunglasses to promote sun safety.
