Daz Cameron, Isaac Paredes, Austin Athmann Selected to 2018 Florida State League All-Star Game

Lakeland, FL - The Florida State League (FSL) 2018 All-Star teams have been announced by League President Ken Carson. Outfielder Daz Cameron, shortstop Isaac Paredes, and catcher Austin Athmann will represent the Flying Tigers at the 57th annual FSL All-Star Game. Athmann will replace Francisco Diaz of the Tampa Tarpons

Lakeland, FL - The Florida State League (FSL) 2018 All-Star teams have been announced by League President Ken Carson. Outfielder Daz Cameron, shortstop Isaac Paredes, and catcher Austin Athmann will represent the Flying Tigers at the 57th annual FSL All-Star Game. Athmann will replace Francisco Diaz of the Tampa Tarpons who has been promoted and will not participate in the game. The game will take place at George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, home of the Tampa Tarpons, on Saturday, June 16 at 6:30 p.m.

Daz Cameron currently leads the Flying Tigers in several categories including batting average (.287), runs scored (28), hits (49), OBP (.369), SLG (.415) and OPS (.784). He was acquired by the Detroit Tigers along with Franklin Perez and Jake Rogers from Houston in exchange for Justin Verlander and a player to be named later (Juan Ramirez) on August 31, 2017. Cameron, 21, currently ranks as the #9 prospect in the Tigers organization by MLB.com.
Isaac Paredes also leads the Flying Tigers in several categories including doubles (11), home runs (4), extra base hits (16) and RBI (25). He also leads all FSL shortstops with a .985 fielding percentage, committing only 2 errors in 137 total chances. He was acquired by the Detroit Tigers along with Jeimer Candelario from Chicago (NL) in exchange for Justin Wilson and Alex Avila on July 31, 2017. Paredes, 19, currently ranks as the #7 prospect in the Tigers organization by MLB.com.
Austin Athmann currently leads all FSL catchers in games played (36), total chances (310) and putouts (289). He is also 5th in the league with 10 runners caught stealing. Athmann, 23, was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 14th round of the June 2016 draft while attending the University of Minnesota.
