Flying Tigers to Play the 2016 Season at Henley Field

April 20, 2016

Due to the massive $43 million dollar renovation project at Joker Marchant Stadium, the Lakeland Flying Tigers will play the entire 2016 home schedule just down the road at Historic Henley Field. Located at 1125 N Florida Ave, Lakeland, FL 33805, Henley is less than 2 miles from Marchant Stadium.

Henley Field was constructed in 1925, serving as the Detroit Tigers Spring Training facility from 1934-1966, and last served as the Flying Tigers home in 2002. The cozy park consists of a covered bleacher section between the dugouts with a capacity of just over 1,000.

Parking is available directly across the ballpark with a limited number of handicap spaces available in front of Henley field. Security will be on site before, during, and after the game to assist fans crossing Florida Avenue.

Monday-Saturday games through July 9 will begin at 6:00 p.m. to provide as much daylight as possible. Due to the frequent rain storms in July and August and lack of accessible shelter for the Flying Tigers, games after July 9 will begin at 1:00 p.m. with occasional 4 p.m. start times to accommodate teams with long commutes. All Sunday games will begin at 1:00 p.m. The 2016 season will continue to feature $1 Mondays, Baseball Bingo on Tuesdays, and all-you-can-eat Wednesdays.

The box office has moved to the TigerTown administration office, located in the back of the complex. Box office hours are Monday-Friday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. On weekday game days, the administration box office will close 2 hours prior to gates opening and re-open at Henley Field one hour prior to gates opening. The box office is closed on Saturdays and Sundays with the exception of game days.  On Saturday and Sunday home games, the Henley Field box office will open one hour prior to gates opening.

The Flying Tigers will return to a renovated Joker Marchant Stadium in 2017, complete with brand new and expanded concessions, bathrooms, a state-of-the-art HD video board and sound system, 360 degree access around the stadium, more elevators and ADA seats, picnic areas, a walk-in merchandise store and a luxurious club.
