LANCASTER, Calif. - Modesto's offense was too much for the JetHawks on Sunday, as the Nuts won, 11-2, in the series finale and the conclusion of a six-game homestand for Lancaster. The Nuts scored all 11 runs in the first four innings.

The Nuts (22-22, 52-62) did most of their damage against Lancaster starter Garrett Schilling (8-6). Modesto scored three runs in the first inning, and they added five in the second. The Nuts had six hits in the second inning, three of which left the ballpark.
Schilling left after two innings, and Modesto scored three more times against reliever Hayden Roberts. The bullpen settled down after the fourth inning. Austin Moore, Nick Kennedy and Salvador Justo combined to pitch five shutout innings in relief.
Lancaster (24-20, 58-54) got on the board in the bottom of the fourth. Ryan Vilade hit a solo home run, giving him eight on the season. He finished the six-game homestand with 12 this and 9 RBIs.
Modesto's Ian McKinney (10-5) only surrendered a run on two hits over six innings. The lefty lowered his ERA to 2.97 and became the first pitcher in the Cal League with 10 wins this year.
LJ Hatch accounted for two of Lancaster's four hits on the night, including his first Cal League home run. The homer came against Matthew Willrodt, who pitched the final three innings for Modesto.
With the loss, the JetHawks fell to 7-3 in rubber games this year. Modesto went 5-1 at The Hangar this season. Lancaster went 3-3 on the homestand heading into an off day on Monday.
After the off day, Lancaster opens a three-game series in Rancho Cucamonga Tuesday. Lefty Lucas Gilbreath (4-8) gets the start for the JetHawks. First pitch from LoanMart Field is 7:05 pm.
