The Squonk's Pop Culture Impact
  • The band Genesis famously have a song titled "Squonk" on their album A Trick of the Tail: "The sack across my back, the sound of sobbing on my shoulder. When suddenly it stopped, I opened up the sack, all that I had... A pool of bubbles and tears - JUST A POOL OF TEARS."

  • Squonkapalooza: a FREE all-ages cryptid festival celebrating the Squonk and other creatures of Appalachian and Americana folklore and cryptozoology at Bottle Works in Johnstown, PA.

  • Steve Irwin's one that got away: "She was a beauty! But when I got closer, all I saw was a puddle."

Is the Squonk a Pig?

While the physical similarities between the Squonk and a pig are numerous, FeRROUS and FeFe deny any relation to the vile creature (oddly, the Squonk and FeRROUS and FeFe have never been seen together in the same room, leading to various speculation, conspiracy theories, and rumors of a link between them).

The Squonk is extremely self-conscious of its appearance. With its ragged wrinkly skin wracked with warts, pimples, boils, and more, the Squonk hides in the deepest parts of the forest hoping to conceal its ugliness from the world. Leaving behind a stream of tears, owing to its depressed and self-loathing nature, the Squonk is an unbelievably hard creature to catch. As soon as eyes are laid upon it, the Squonk dissolves into a puddle of its own tears, desperate to remain out of sight.

Rep the Squonk!
