66ers Tie the Series
Haeger made his fourth rehabilitation appearance with the 66ers this season Saturday night. He pitched three innings and allowed, six hits and two walks, while registering four strikeouts.
Aaron Miller came in to relieve Haeger and finished off the rest of the game with a brilliant five strikeout effort, allowing just, five hits and three walks in six innings. In the top of the sixth, Miller got some help from his teammates with the bases loaded and nobody out. Miller got two ground balls, one to third baseman Anthony Hatch who threw home for one out, and then another to Austin Gallagher which started a 3-2-5 double play to end the inning.
In the bottom of fifth the 66ers were trailing the Blaze 3-1 when Matt Wallach hit a single run home run, making him the second 66er to hit two home runs at home.
After striking out twice in a row, Kyle Russell was able to redeem himself in the eighth when he hit an RBI single, scoring Gutierrez and making the score 4-3.
The 66ers will be on road tomorrow, but will return to Arrowhead Credit Union Park on Thursday. Be sure to come out for Thirsty Thursday where you can purchase $1 beers and sodas.
