Aaron Loup Added to All-Star Game

July 7, 2012
MANCHESTER, N.H. - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, announced today that pitcher Aaron Loup has been named to the Eastern Division squad for the 2012 Eastern League All-Star Game, replacing former teammate Sam Dyson, who was recently promoted to Toronto. Loup is the sixth Fisher Cats player to earn All-Star recognition, joining infielders Mike McDade, Ryan Goins, and Mark Sobolewski, and pitchers Dyson and Yohan Pino.

Loup, 24, leads the Eastern League in appearances with 36, and has registered a 2.84 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 44.1 innings.  The Blue Jays ninth-round pick in 2009 out of Tulane University has also picked up 3 saves and leads the team with 6 holds. He began the season with a span of 13 games and 13.1 innings without allowing a run.

The Fisher Cats contingent of All-Stars will participate in this year's mid-summer showdown at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pa., on Wednesday, July 11.

The Fisher Cats open their final series before the All-Star break against the New Britain Rock Cats tonight at 7:05 PM.  The game includes post-game Atlas Fireworks presented by EnergyNorth Propane.  It's also a USA Subs Baseball Bingo Game and Faith & Family Night.  Tickets are available by visiting www.nhfishercats.com.
