LAKEWOOD, NJ - Comedian Artie Lange and former professional wrestler Tito Santana will participate in the "Celebrity Hitting Challenge," to be hosted by the BlueClaws as part of 2013 South Atlantic League All-Star Game festivities in June.
Lange and Santana are the third and fourth participants to be announced, following former Phillie Mitch Williams and former Met and Yankee Doc Gooden, who were announced in October.
The "Celebrity Hitting Challenge" is on June 17th, the night before the 2013 South Atlantic League All-Star Game at FirstEnergy Park. This will be the first time in league history that the All-Star Game festivities will be a two-day event.
Lange, who was raised in Union Township, New Jersey, is best known for his work on the Howard Stern Show, on which he appeared from 2001-2009. He also appeared on The Norm Show and MADtv.
Tito Santana, who lives in Roxbury Township, New Jersey, is a professional wrestler who made his WWF debut in 1979. He is a former Tag Team Champion and Intercontinental Champion and also appeared at the first nine Wrestlemanias, a distinction held by only Santana and Hulk Hogan.
As part of this event, there will be two teams of celebrities who square off in the "Celebrity Hitting Challenge." Targets will be placed around the field, and hitting these targets or other obstacles will earn points for each team. Additional details will be announced, as well as many other participants, in the coming months.
Tickets are now available through a BlueClaws ticket package. Anyone that books a ticket package, which also comes with a choice of gift, can reserve tickets to the SAL All-Star Game at their package rate.
