VISALIA, CA - Devil Rays third baseman Aubrey Huff will join the Visalia Oaks for a two game rehab assignment in San Jose on Wednesday May 3rd and Thursday May 4th. Huff has been on the Tampa Bay Disabled List since spraining his left knee on April 12th. He is scheduled to play thirdbase and hit cleanup for the first seven innings for the Oaks tonight. The timing works out very well for the Rays, Oaks and Huff because both teams are in the Bay Area this week. After the Oaks finish up their four game series in San Jose with a day game at 12:45 PM on Thursday, the Devil Rays begin a three game set at Oakland on Friday night. Huff has been one of the best power bats for the Rays since 2002. He is the only Ray in team history with four 20+ HR seasons. He is also one of just ten players in the Major Leagues who has averaged 101 RBI, 25 HR and a .290 AVG over the last three seasons. Huff and Albert Pujols, Miguel Tejada and Vladimir Guerrero are the only four players under the age of 30 to accomplish that feat. Aubrey Huff, 30, is 6'4" and 230 lbs.
