Bats Fall to Tides 5-2

Sarasota, FL - The Norfolk Tides defeated the Louisville Bats 5-2 in spring training baseball on Tuesday.

Tom Shearn started for Louisville, going 3 2/3 innings, allowing four runs on six hits while striking out four. Mike Flannery pitched a scoreless 1 1/3 inning and Wes Wilkerson contributed two shutout frames in relief.

Paul Janish led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Earl Snyder was 2-for-4 with a double and Ryan Hanigan contributed two hits and scored a run for Louisville.

The Bats will again take on the Norfolk Tides on Wednesday at the Reds Minor League Complex in Sarasota beginning at 1:00pm.
