Colome, Wrigley Named Rays Players of the Month

The Tampa Bay Rays have announced that Durham Bulls players Alex Colomoe and Henry Wrigley have been named as the July Pitcher and Player of the month.

Alex Colome led the Southern League in wins in July with five, finishing the month with a 5-1 record with a 2.23 ERA. He started six games for the Biscuits in month and tossed 40.1 IP, allowed 10 ER, a HR, 15 BB and 36 SO. He topped off his career in Montgomery with a complete game victory in his final start as a Biscuit. So far Colome is 0-1 with a 2.25 ERA in two starts with the Bulls.

Henry Wrigley was sensational in the month, hitting .370 (37-for-100) with 10 2B, a triple, 3 HR, 18 RBI, with a .398 OBP. The right handed slugger finished July leading the Bulls in RBI, doubles, and was tied for the lead in HR. He currently leads the Bulls in doubles (22),SLG PCT (.516) and is tied for the lead in RBI (46). Wrigley is batting .320 (88-for-275) on the season with 10 HR in Durham. Between Montgomery and Durham, he ranks third in the organization with a .305 (121-for-397) average. He tops Rays minor leaguers in HR with 17 and RBI with 73.
