Fightin Phils to televise 24 games

Service Electric to produce games for eighth straight season
March 14, 2013

READING, Pa. -- The Reading Fightin Phils, Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, have announced their schedule of televised games for the 2013 season alongside partner Service Electric Cable TV and Communications.

Over the course of the season, Service Electric will broadcast 24 games on its sports network, 2Sports. 2Sports is available exclusively to Service Electric Cable subscribers. As with last year's slate, 2Sports will carry games in sparkling high-definition.

"Throughout the years, Service Electric has enjoyed a strong relationship with local Minor League teams like the Reading Fightin Phils and Lehigh Valley IronPigs, certifying 2Sports as the premier broadcast outlet of the future Philadelphia Phillies stars," said Service Electric 2Sports general manager, Andy Himmelwright. "Since 1969, we have provided superior local programming, while making the technological advances that have led us to produce award-winning in crystal-clear high-definition."

Returning for the 2013 season in the 2Sports booth will be long-time Reading broadcaster, Steve Degler. Degler served as Reading's primary radio voice from 1992 until 2008, and was the longest tenured broadcaster in the Eastern League prior to his departure. He currently serves as the color commentator for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs TV Network on 2Sports.

Degler will be accompanied in the booth by color analyst Tim Neiman. Neiman, who is entering his fifth year on the crew, is currently head coach for the DeSales University baseball team. A former Major League scout with the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox, Neiman has more than 30 years of collegiate coaching experience that will lend depth and insight to his analysis for Fightin Phils games.

Based in Allentown, Pa., SECTV 2Sports produces the games that will also be carried by network affiliated Service Electric Cablevision, Service Electric Company, Blue Ridge Cable TV-11, Blue Ridge Cable TV-13 and WYLN-35. Overall, Fightin Phils games will be carried in more than one million homes in Eastern Pennsylvania.

The 2013 season will be the Fightins' eighth on SECTV 2Sports.

The Fightin Phils will kick off their home schedule on Fri, April 12 at FirstEnergy Stadium when the team takes on the Erie SeaWolves. Savage 61 Fightins VIP Club plans, group tickets and single game tickets for 2013 can be purchased or by visiting the FirstEnergy Stadium Ticket Office, by phone at 610-370-BALL (2225) and at Fightins.com online.
