Homecoming for Barons and WYDE

1260-AM will air Voice of the Barons Bloom's 20th season

HOOVER, Ala. -- The Birmingham Barons announced Tuesday that their new flagship radio station for the 2011 season will be WYDE 1260-AM. The Barons were part of the WYDE family from 2003-09, before partnering with WJOX last year.

"We are very happy to work with Crawford Broadcasting and WYDE being our flagship station for all Barons game in 2011. Jennifer Paepke and the entire WYDE staff have always been wonderful to work with, and broadcasting our games on WYDE 1260 AM will allow Barons fans to catch every game this upcoming season," said Barons general manager, Jonathan Nelson.

WYDE 1260 AM will broadcast all 140 Birmingham Barons games exclusively in 2011. Games will also be broadcasted online at www.barons.com or www.101wyde.com. Curt Bloom remains the voice of the Barons as the 2011 season marks his 20th with the team.

The 2011 Birmingham Barons season begins on Thu, April 7, against the Montgomery Biscuits, Double-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, with the home opener set for Wed, April 13 versus the Chattanooga Lookouts, Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
