Marlins prospect scores three runs in 9-8 loss to BayBears

Second-ranked Marlins prospect Jake Marisnick notched his second four-hit game of the season and scored three runs Friday night, but Jacksonville dropped a 9-8 decision to visiting Mobile.

Christian Yelich, the lone Miami prospect ranked ahead of Marisnick, reached base three times and scored twice.

D-backs farmhand Dustin Martin missed the cycle by a triple for the BayBears, going 4-for-5 with two runs scored.

Pirates No. 4 prospect Gregory Polanco had three RBIs and Mel Rojas went 4-for-5 with a double, triple and two runs scored in Altoona's 3-1 win over Akron.

Nick Kingham, Pittsburgh's 12th-ranked prospect, allowed one run on six hits over six innings to improve to 2-2 with a 3.41 ERA.

Indians No. 9 prospect Jose Ramirez doubled and singled and is hitting .408 over his last 10 games for the Aeros.

Ian Thomas hurled six innings of two-hit ball and struck out six in Mississippi's 2-0 blanking of Chattanooga. The Braves' No. 20 prospect would rank eighth in the Southern League with a 2.69 ERA if he had enough innings to qualify.

Tommy La Stella, Atlanta's 16th-ranked prospect, reached twice for the M-Braves, while Mycal Jones stole his 19th and 20th bases.
