Beloit Snappers (Minnesota Twins)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Snappers are 7-15, and are in last place in the Western Division.

WHO'S HOT: 2B Steven Singleton ranks third in the league, batting .368 (25-for-68) with two doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs in 19 games.

WHO'S NOT: OF Ozzie Lewis is batting a mere .091 (5-for-55) with 18 strikeouts in 17 games. ... 3B Deibinson Romero has committed a team-high seven errors in 17 games.

DID YOU KNOW: The Snappers rank second in the league with 36 stolen bases. However, the team is second in the league with 17 home runs surrendered and tied for first with 80 walks issued.

Burlington Bees (Kansas City Royals)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Bees are 9-12, and in fifth place in the Western Division.

WHO'S HOT: RHP Edward Cegarra (1-0) ranks seventh in the league with a 1.64 ERA. In 22 innings, he has limited opponents to four earned runs and a single walk while striking out 20.

WHO'S NOT: IF Antonio Jimenez is batting a mere .151 (8-for-53) with 21 strikeouts and five errors in 17 games.

DID YOU KNOW: RHP Joe Augustine retired 15 of the first 16 batters he faced and took a no-hitter into the sixth inning in the Bees' 5-4, 10-inning loss to Quad Cities Thursday.

Cedar Rapids Kernels (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Kernels are 12-9, and are tied for third place with Quad Cities in the Western Division.

WHO'S HOT: 1B Efren Navarro went 3-for-3 with three runs scored in the Kernels 7-3 win over West Michigan to raise his batting average to .322 (19-for-59) with five doubles and 11 RBIs in 18 games. ... RHP Ryan Brasier ranks second in the league with five saves. In nine appearances the closer has limited opponents to two earned runs over 12 2/3 innings.

WHO'S NOT: 3B Jay Brossman is batting a cool .132 (5-for-38) over his last nine games.

DID YOU KNOW: OF Jeremy Moore (13) and SS Andrew Romine (12) rank first and second, respectively, in stolen bases in the league. ... LHP Robert Fish (1-0, 3.47 ERA) owns a league-high tying 30 strikeouts in five starts.

ROSTER MOVES: OF Julio Perez was promoted from extended Spring Training and OF Donato Giovanatto was reassigned to extended camp Friday. Perez played 67 games for the Kernels last season, batting .216 with two home runs and 14 RBIs. Giovanatto played in nine games for the Kernels, batting .125 (3-for-24) with four RBIs and a stolen base.

Clinton LumberKings (Texas Rangers)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The LumberKings are 14-5, and in second place in the Western Division.

WHO'S HOT: RHP Kennil Gomez is off to a 3-0 start with a 1.57 ERA, good for fifth place among league pitching leaders. Over 23 innings spanning four starts, he has limited the opposition to four earned runs and two walks while striking out 16.

WHO'S NOT: IF Renny Osuna is batting just .200 (6-for-30) over his last nine games. ... RF Timothy Smith is hitting .222 (8-for-36) over his last nine games.

ROSTER MOVES: RHP Blake Beavan joined the team from extended Spring Training Thursday when RHP Evan Reed was promoted to Class A Advanced Bakersfield. ... Also Thursday, RHP Chris Dennis joined the team from Bakersfield, filling the spot vacated by injured OF David Paisano .

DID YOU KNOW: 1B Ian Gac went 4-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs scored in a 13-2 win over Lansing Friday that included a season-high in runs for the team. But Gac's 12-game hit streak came to an end with an 0-for-4 performance that included three strikeouts in Saturday's 6-1 loss to the Lugnuts. Still, Gac's nine home runs lead all Minor Leaguers.

Dayton Dragons (Cincinnati Reds)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Dragons are 11-10, and tied for third place with Great Lakes in the Eastern Division.

WHO'S HOT: RHP Luis Montano took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of a 3-1 win over Cedar Rapids Tuesday, but ended up settling for a one-hitter. He is 3-0 with a 1.61 ERA in four starts with 14 strikeouts in 22 1/3 innings.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "I was mad at myself after that hit," Montano told MLB.com of the RBI-triple that broke up his no-hit bid. "I wanted to throw a no-hitter."

LEAGUE HONORS: LHP Jeremy Horst was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the period of April 14-20. Horst threw six scoreless innings on the week, allowing just one hit and a walk while striking out 11. In seven appearances this season, the reliever is 1-0 with a 3.07 ERA with 18 strikeouts over 14 2/3 innings.

ROSTER MOVES: INF Zack Cozart was promoted to Dayton from extended Spring Training early last week. To make room on the roster, INF Jake Kahaulelio took Cozart's place in extended spring camp.

Fort Wayne Wizards (San Diego Padres)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Wizards are 18-14, and in fifth place in the Eastern Division.

WHO'S HOT: RHP Jeremy Hefner is tied for second in the league with 29 strikeouts. He is 2-2 with a 2.86 ERA, and has limited opponents to seven runs in 22 innings while leading the team in Ks. ... 1B Felix Carrasco has hit four home runs and driven in 12 over his last nine games.

WHO'S NOT: OF Yefri Carvajal is batting a cool .221 (17-for-77) with 21 strikeouts in 21 games.

DID YOU KNOW: The Wizards' 16-hit attack in a 13-6 win over Quad Cities on April 20 included a season-high four home runs.

ROSTER MOVES: OF Angel Mercado was activated from the disabled list while OF Shane Buschini was reassigned to extended Spring Training Friday.

Great Lakes Loons (Los Angeles Dodgers)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Loons are 11-10, and are tied for third place with Dayton in the Eastern Division.

WHO'S HOT: RHP Justin Miller combined with a pair of relievers on a two-hitter in a 2-0 shutout of Peoria April 20. In five starts he is 2-2 with a measly 1.11 ERA, having limited his opposition to three earned runs while striking out 19 in 24 1/3 innings.

WHO'S NOT: 1B Jamie Ortiz is batting just .146 (6-for-41) with 14 strikeouts in 12 games.

DID YOU KNOW: In a 1-0 win over Kane County Tuesday, the Loons stranded 14 baserunners -- including leaving the bases loaded in the fifth, sixth and ninth innings.

Kane County Cougars (Oakland A's)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Cougars are 16-5, and in first place in the Eastern Division.

WHO'S HOT: OF Corey Brown is batting .333 (12-for-36) with three home runs and seven RBIs over his last 10 games. In 21 games this season he is hitting .305 (25-for-82) with five doubles, a triple, a team-leading five home runs and team-high tying 17 RBIs.

WHO'S NOT: RHP Scott Hodsdon is 0-3 with a 7.71 ERA in four starts. Over 14 innings he has given up 17 runs -- 12 earned -- on 28 hits.

DID YOU KNOW: Saturday's 7-1 win over Dayton in the first game of a doubleheader marked the team's best 20-game start (15-5) in franchise history.

ROSTER MOVES: RHP Earl Oakes joined the team from extended Spring Training Friday, taking the roster spot of RHP Jose Fragoso, who was promoted to Class A Advanced Stockton.

Lansing Lugnuts (Toronto Blue Jays)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Lugnuts are 13-8, and in first place in the Eastern Division.

WHO'S HOT: RHP Kyle Ginley earned his fourth victory of the season in a 6-1 win over Clinton Saturday, lowering his ERA to a stingy 0.89 ERA. The 7 2/3 outing, in which he gave up just one unearned run while scattering five hits, marked his third consecutive start without allowing an earned run.

WHO'S NOT: LHP Luis Perez is 0-2 with a 9.22 ERA. In 13 2/3 innings, he has given up 16 runs -- 14 earned -- on 23 hits and 15 walks and three hit batters.

DID YOU KNOW: C Jonathan Jaspe was suspended 50 games Friday after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. The 23-year old was batting .341 with a home run and 12 RBIs in 12 games.

Peoria Chiefs (Chicago Cubs)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Chiefs are 8-14, and in seventh place in the Western Division.

WHO'S HOT: Peoria's pitching staff owns a 2.60 ERA -- good for second in the 14-team league. RHP Dae-Eun Rhee leads the staff with a 3-1 mark and 2.12 ERA in four starts.

WHO'S NOT: OF Kyler Burke is batting .227 (15-for-66) with 15 strikeouts in 18 games.

DID YOU KNOW: 1B Jovan Rosa halted an 0-for-18 slump with a 2-for-4 effort that included two RBIs in Monday's 6-3 loss to Lansing. ... The Chiefs 27 doubleplays leads the league.

ROSTER MOVES: 1B/C Blake Lalli was promoted to Class A Advanced Daytona and Rhee was placed on the disabled list with right triceps tendonitis Friday. In their places, RHP Billy Muldowney and INF Elvis Lara joined the team.

South Bend Silver Hawks (Arizona Diamondbacks)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Silver Hawks are 6-15, and in last place in the Eastern Division.

WHO'S HOT: OF Evan Frey own a 15-game hitting streak to raise his batting average to .354 (29-82) with five doubles, three triples and 11 RBIs in 18 games. He ranks fourth in the league in total hits while his batting average is sixth.

WHO'S NOT: C Konrad Schmidt is batting a mere .148 (8-for-54) with 14 strikeouts in 14 games.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "When [Frey] goes up to the plate, his speed, ability to stay on balls, approach at the plate the way he work counts and makes sure he gets good pitches -- those are all the things that put together result in him always having good at-bats," South Bend manager Mark Haley told the South Bend Tribune.

ROSTER MOVES: OF Ariel Urena and RHP Jeff Dietz were added to the roster Wednesday from extended Spring Training. To make room, RHP Alvaro Ortega and OF Anthony Smith were sent to extended camp.

Quad Cities River Bandits (St. Louis Cardinals)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The River Bandits are 12-9, and are tied for third place with Cedar Rapids in the Western Division.

WHO'S HOT: RHP Eduardo Sanchez tossed three scoreless innings of relief in Wednesday's 6-4 win over Burlington -- his first outing sine joining the team from extended Spring Training earlier that week.

WHO'S NOT: INF Domnit Bolivar is batting a mere .183 (11-for-60) with 16 strikeouts in 19 games.

DID YOU KNOW: The River Bandits managed just two runs on 13 hits in a 5-2 loss to Burlington Tuesday.

West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Whitecaps are 12-9, and are in second place in the Eastern Division.

WHO'S HOT: OF/2B Joseph Tucker ranks fourth in the league in batting at .358 (19-for-53) with three doubles and six RBIs in 14 games. ... RHP Alfredo Figaro (3-0) leads the league with a miniscule 0.75 ERA in four starts.

WHO'S NOT: OF Mark McBratney is batting just .167 (9-for-54) with 16 strikeouts in 14 games. ... SS Andy Ciriaco has committed a team-high eight errors in 17 games.

DID YOU KNOW: The Whitecaps have played extra innings in five of their last nine games -- going 3-2 with both losses coming on the road. ... The team is 1-7 on the road against Western Division opponents.

ROSTER MOVES: C Joe Bowen (hyper-extended elbow) was activated from the disabled list Wednesday. To clear room on the roster, C Adrian Cassanova was sent to extended Spring Training.

Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Seattle Mariners)
THE SEASON SO FAR: The Timber Rattlers are 7-11, but have moved up to sixth place in the Western Division.

WHO'S HOT: OF Daniel Carroll ranks third in the league with 10 stolen bases. He is also batting a team-best -- among regular starters -- .339 (19-for-56) with three doubles, a triple and four RBIs.

WHO'S NOT: RHP Robert Harmon is 0-2 with an 11.42 ERA in three starts this season. Over 8 2/3 innings he has given up 11 earned runs on 18 hits and seven walks, while striking out just four batters.

DID YOU KNOW: OF Maximo Mendez tripled in his first at-bat with the Timber Rattlers Wednesday, and is batting .429 (3-for-7) in his first three games... The Rattlers have not committed an error since the third inning of a rain-shortened game at Beloit on April 18. Wisconsin has gone five games spanning 44 1/3 innings without committing a miscue in the field.
