International League
Brandon Guyer, Durham

One of the prospects sent to the Rays from the Cubs in the Matt Garza deal, Brandon Guyer has had no problems adjusting to a new system. He's hitting .323 with 28 extra-base hits for the Bulls, and he homered in his only big league appearance. This week, Guyer kept up the good work. He tripled and stole a base during a three-hit Monday, and he stole another base and scored in his only hitless outing, on Tuesday. He banged out three more hits to fall a triple shy of the cycle, scoring three runs and knocking in four Friday, and he added another RBI in each of the last two games of the week.

Pacific Coast League
Welington Castillo, Iowa

On a 15-game hitting streak dating back to May 30, Cubs prospect Welington Castillo really ratcheted up the power over his last couple games. He doubled in each of his first two tilts of the week, picking up five hits between those matchups at Omaha. Opening a series at Albuquerque on Friday, Castillo went yard twice to collect six RBIs. On Saturday, he homered again, doubled and singled to knock in four more runs and cross the plate twice himself. The backstop took a blow Sunday. He has at least one RBI in each of his last six games, and he's had multiple hits in each of his last five.

Eastern League
Jordy Mercer, Altoona

A third-round pick of the Pirates in 2008, Mercer is repeating the Eastern League. Of late, he's played like somebody who definitely knows his way around the Double-A diamond. He's knocked in 12 runs over his last eight games, collecting at least one RBI in each of them. He doubled and singled in his first game of the week and doubled, singled, walked and scored in his second. Mercer shook off two hitless outings this week, coming back to homer and add another hit in the subsequent game each time. His 13 dingers tie him for fourth in the league.

Southern League
Alfredo Silverio, Chattanooga

For 24-year-old Dodgers prospect Alfredo Silverio, his selection as Player of the Week is the culmination of months of good work for the outfielder. Silverio, who finished the first half ranked third in the Southern League in total bases (147) and first in triples (11), won this week's award after devastating Tennessee in a five-game set. During the series, he had a five-hit game, a four-hit game, four doubles, two home runs, seven RBIs and four runs scored.

Texas League
Tommy Mendonca, Frisco

Rangers prospect Tommy Mendonca rides a 10-game hitting streak into the new week, and he's batting .522 with 17 RBIs during the streak. His first three games of the week were especially impressive; he had 10 hits -- including two doubles and a triple -- eight RBIs and six runs scored from Monday to Wednesday. On Thursday, he settled for only one hit for the first time in seven games, but he made it a home run. He doubled in each of the weekend games and notched five more hits in that three-day stretch.

California League
Kody Hinze, Lancaster

Kody Hinze slugged 19 home runs with Class A Lexington last season, and the Astros have to love the way he's come out swinging the bat this season -- he's already matched 2010's longball total. Hinze hit his second and third roundtrippers in two days during a seven-RBI outburst Monday, also slapping a pair of base hits in that one. An 0-for-3, three-strikeout Tuesday only seemed to make him hungrier. He homered twice more in his next game, and he scored two runs in each of the two games after that. Hinze walked at least once in each of his last four games, and he's worked 10 bases-on-balls in his most recent nine games.

Carolina League
Nick Francis, Wilmington

Last week, Royals prospect Nick Francis tallied five hits in a single game. He apparently liked the feeling so much he tried to replicate it this week, going 4-for-4 with a homer and a double in one game and 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk in another. Aside from these multi-hit feasts, he was generally consistent. When he closed out the week with a double in Sunday's game, Francis had already doubled, singled, knocked in a run and scored one in the first game of a Tuesday doubleheader, and he'd scored again despite going 0-for-3 in the nightcap.

Florida State League
Tyler Bortnick, Charlotte

In a week abbreviated by the Florida State League All-Star Game, Rays prospect Tyler Bortnick crammed a normal week's worth of production into three games. He homered, singled, walked twice and stole three bases Tuesday, ripped off two more bags during a three-RBI game Wednesday and homered and walked twice to grab four more RBIs on Thursday. Bortnick also played in the All-Star Game, coming off the bench and going 0-for-2.

Midwest League
Jonathan Garcia, Great Lakes

Jonathan Garcia kicked off the week by homering in each of four consecutive games. The Dodgers' eighth-round pick of 2009, Garcia has 11 home runs so far in his first full season, which ties him for third in the league. He also did just fine for himself when the ball stayed in the park this week, putting together three multiple-hit games. When his homer-mad run came to an end with an 0-for-3 Saturday, he came back out and singled and walked in Sunday's game.

South Atlantic League
Gary Sanchez, Charleston

One of three highly touted Yankees catching prospects (along with Jesus Montero and Austin Romine), Gary Sanchez showed what all the hubbub is about with his performance this week. He hit safely in each of his six games, getting two base knocks three separate times and going 3-for-4 with a double Saturday. Sanchez also had a two-bagger Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, and he stole his second base of the year in his last game of the week.
