Tickets are going fast for the first weekend of Missoula Osprey baseball this season, which will take place on June 22-24, with the defending Pioneer League Champion Great Falls Voyagers coming to Ogren Park Allegiance Field.
The opening weekend will include fireworks, two Opening games, a chance to win season tickets, a birthday party for a famous bird, and plenty of fun for the whole family.
Fans are encouraged to get their tickets now at the MSO Hub Box Office, online at MissoulaOsprey.com or by phone at (406) 543-3300.
The home opener for the Osprey is Friday, June 22 and the first 2,000 fans will receive a 2012 Osprey magnetic schedule, sponsored by Fiesta En Jalisco and the Corridor. In addition, it will be the first Happy Hour Night, a new twist on Fridays. Gates will open at 5:30 every Friday this season, and there will be Happy Hour Specials for fans to enjoy during that first hour.
Saturday brings the first of two Fireworks Extravanagzas this season, presented by Mountain FM. The first Saturday at Ogren Park Allegiance Field also presents another interesting twist - the presence of one of the more popular in-between inning activities offered by the Osprey. Game Show Night, which has been a staple on Wednesdays, now joins the famous Launch-A-Ball event on Saturday nights. For the first Game Show Night, the game featured will be Let's Make A Deal. Gates will open at 6:30, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05.
In addition to the traditional Opening Night and the Fireworks celebration, Opening Weekend will be capped by a Kids' Opening Day on the first Sunday, June 24. The activities and music between innings will be geared towards kids, and kids will have a chance to run the bases after the game and play catch on the field. Kid's Day is sponsored by Mismo Gymnastics.
Plus, it's a party for Ollie Osprey, who is celebrating his 10th birthday this season. Kids will get the chance to celebrate along with Ollie his hatching, which took place 10 years ago, during the Sunday game with the Voyagers.
It's also the debut of Social Media Sunday. Fans that follow the Missoula Osprey on Facebook and Twitter will be able to use code words for special ticket offers every Sunday. Gates will open at 4:30, with the first pitch scheduled for 5:05.
The Osprey will then take back to the road for a quick two-game stay in Helena before the Brewers come to town to take on the Osprey on Wednesday, June 27.
Tickets are available now at the MSO Hub Box Office, located at 140 North Higgins in Downtown Missoula, online at MissoulaOsprey.com and by phone (406) 543-3300.
