PawSox Again Treat Youngsters to World Series Trip

Local Youngsters Go to Detroit to Watch San Francisco Giants Win 2012 World Series
November 9, 2012

A pair of young local baseball fans attended Games 3 and 4 of the 2012 World Series in Detroit this past October as the Pawtucket Red Sox once again provided two lucky winners from the Boys and Girls Club of Pawtucket with an all-expense paid trip to the World Series.

This year's trip to Comerica Park in Detroit marked the 23rd consecutive year that the PawSox sent a pair of youngsters (along with a parent each) to baseball's showcase event.

The Boys and Girls Club winners were chosen from eligible club members prior to a PawSox game at McCoy last season. They were Mitchell Brown, 13, from Rehoboth, MA and Alexander Flowers, 12, from Rumford, RI. The youngsters were accompanied by Mitchell's father Al and Alexander's dad Brian.

The four had great seats for Games 3 & 4 of World Series as they watched the visiting San Francisco Giants sweep the Detroit Tigers to win their second World Series Championship in the past three years.
