Quakes Release 2011 Roster

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - With the Los Angeles Dodgers setting their minor league rosters on Monday evening, the 2011 Rancho Cucamonga Quakes' opening day roster has been finalized.

The 2011 Quakes' roster includes 10 former Cal Leaguers and a total of six players that Baseball America considers to be "top-30" prospects within the Dodgers' minor league system.

The group is led by a pair of "top-10" pitching prospects, as right-handers Allen Webster (#5) and Ethan Martin (#9) will lead the Quakes' five-man rotation. Other starters slated to be in the rotation include JonMichael Redding, Matt Magill and lefty Greg Wilborn.

Position players who Baseball America recognizes as "top-30" prospects include shortstop Jake Lemmerman (#24), who won the 2010 Pioneer League MVP award, outfielders Blake Smith (#27) and Angelo Songco (#28), and right-handed reliever Luis Vasquez (#30).

In addition to Vasquez, the bullpen rounds out with fellow right-handers Steven Ames, Scott Nestor, Felix Romero, Steve Smith and Josh Walter, as well as southpaws Jordan Roberts and Andy Suiter.

The Quakes will have two active catchers on the roster, with J.T. Wise and Gorman Erickson to share the workload behind the plate.

The infielders include Joe Becker, Tony Delmonico, Travis Denker, Austin Gallagher and Rafael Ynoa. Outfielders Nick Buss and Ramon Jean round out the Quakes' 25-man active roster.

The Quakes are in action on Tuesday night, for a pre-season match-up against Azusa Pacific University. Game time is 6:05pm and tickets are still available by calling the Azusa Pacific baseball office at (626) 815-6000. Tickets are just $5 with the proceeds going back to Azusa Pacific University.
