Redbirds Announce Twosday Promotion

Fans Set To Win Numerous Prizes During Tuesday Home Games In 2013

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Redbirds released game times for the 2013 schedule today and are happy to announce a special "Two-sday" promotion that offers fans special discounts and numerous ways to win prizes at every Tuesday home game at AutoZone Park in 2013.

Each of the Redbirds' ten homestands throughout the home slate will feature a Twosday promotion, totaling 12 in all at AutoZone Park in 2013. Games will commence when the minute-hand strikes "two" on ten Tuesday night contests (7:02 p.m.) and on a pair of matinee games (2:02 p.m. on April 23 and 12:02 p.m. on May 14).

The Redbirds will feature a special Tuesday ticket offer that includes two-for-one pricing in a certain section for each of the Tuesday home games.

A pair of Twosday tickets will be given away by the Redbirds every Tuesday morning throughout the regular season. Fans are encouraged to "Like" the Redbirds on Facebook (facebook.com/memphisredbirds) and "Follow" the team on Twitter (@memphisredbirds) while using the #Twosday hashtag for a chance to win and receive exclusive promotions.

All fans will receive Team Store and concession discounts on Twosday games, including $2 Hot Dogs, $2 Sodas, $2 Popcorn, and beer specials. Fans born on the 2nd day of any month will receive free admission (with a valid ID) while select fans will be rewarded with a boat load of special prizes.

Fans Win Various Prizes If The Following Happens During Redbirds Tuesday Contests:

  • The Redbirds hit a double during the 2nd inning or a ground rule double in any inning
  • The Redbirds catcher throws out an opposing runner attempting to steal 2nd base
  • The Redbirds drive in a run with two outs
  • The Redbirds hold an opponent to two runs in the game
  • The Redbirds execute a double steal
  • Two-strike, two-ball count with two outs

The Redbirds will host 72 games at AutoZone Park beginning with the 7:05 p.m. season opener on Thursday, April 4 against the Oklahoma City RedHawks.

The 2013 home schedule includes ten homestands, ten day games, and 32 weekend dates (Fri.-Sun.) during what is sure to be another summer at the ballpark filled with affordable family fun.

The Pacific Coast League continues its use of an unbalanced 144-game schedule format in 2013. The Redbirds will play 16 games (eight home, eight away) against teams in their own conference. Memphis will host each of the four Pacific Conference Southern Division teams - Sacramento, Fresno, Tucson, and Las Vegas - in four-game series at AutoZone Park. The Redbirds will travel to each of the four Pacific Northern clubs - Colorado Springs, Reno, Salt Lake, and Tacoma - for four-game sets.

The 2013 season will be the Redbirds' 16th year as the St. Louis Cardinals' top affiliate in the Pacific Coast League. The 2013 promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
