Rock Cats' Sano hits two more homers

Miguel Sano recorded his second two-homer game in six days on Friday night, powering New Britain to a 7-3 triumph over visiting Reading. The Twins' No. 2 prospect, who also doubled, has gone deep 19 times in 64 games with the Rock Cats and is tied for third in the Minor Leagues with 35 overall.

Jordan Parraz chipped in two hits and two RBIs, while Corey Williams pitched two innings of scoreless relief to get the win.

Jim Murphy and Phillies No. 2 prospect Maikel Franco both had two hits and an RBI in a losing effort.

Justin Bour fell a triple shy of the cycle and drove in a season-high six runs as Tennessee coasted to a 12-1 victory at Chattanooga.

Cubs No. 8 prospect Arismendy Alcantara reached base three times, drove in two runs and scored twice as part of the Smokies' 13-hit attack. No. 14 prospect Christian Villanueva contributed two hits and three RBIs, while leadoff man and No. 9 prospect Matt Szczur singled twice, walked twice, stole his 22nd base and scored three runs.

Tennessee starter Eduardo Figueroa improved to 2-2 after limiting the Lookouts to one hit over six scoreless innings.

Archie Bradley recorded his Southern League-leading 12th win as Mobile defeated visiting Pensacola, 10-2. The D-backs' top prospect won his sixth straight start after allowing two runs -- one earned -- on three hits over five innings.

Sawyer Carroll and D-backs No. 13 prospect Nick Ahmed drove in three runs apiece, while Keon Broxton and Ryan Court both scored twice for the BayBears.

D'Arby Myers doubled, singled and scored twice, extending the Minor Leagues' longest hitting streak of the season to 33 games and helping Midland take care of San Antonio, 7-1.

A's No. 18 prospect Max Muncy came within a homer of hitting for the cycle and drove in two runs for the RockHounds, who got seven solid innings from Murphy Smith.

Padres No. 14 prospect Cory Spangenberg went 3-for-5 with his 18th stolen base and scored the Missions' lone run.

Darin Gorski allowed two hits over seven innings to outduel Deck McGuire as Binghamton whitewashed visiting New Hampshire, 3-0. Gorski, the 2011 Florida State League Pitcher of the Year, struck out five and did not issue a walk in winning his third straight decision.

Travis Taijeron delivered a two-run double to cap the B-Mets' three-run sixth.

Taijeron's double was the first hit allowed by McGuire, who was charged with all three runs -- two earned -- on two hits over 6 2/3 innings. He fanned seven and walked four.
