Rome announces front office moves

New broadcaster, ticket manager, suite director named

ROME, Ga. -- The Rome Braves announced that Ben Poplin will call the games in 2013 on 95.7 FM the Ridge. The broadcasts will also be heard online at www.romebraves.com, complementing televised home games available to fans at www.milb.tv.

Poplin, a recent graduate of Kennesaw State University has been the voice of the Owls baseball team for the past three seasons. He replaces the late JB Smith who passed away suddenly last October. 95.7FM, owned by TTA Broadcasting, reaches northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama with a signal that covers nine counties.

Jeff Fletcher has been named as the team's ticket manager. Fletcher received a B.S. in marketing from Arizona State University and worked in ticketing for the Washington Nationals organization, as well as the Brevard County Manatees, the affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers in the Class A Advanced Florida State League.

Christina Shaw has been named as the suite director at State Mutual Stadium. Shaw began in the Braves organization in 2011 as an executive trainee. She is a graduate of Mercer University in Macon, Ga.

Season tickets, as well as six and 12-pack ticket plans are now available for the 2013 season.

The Rome Braves open the season April 4 in Savannah. The home opener at State Mutual Stadium is April 6, also versus the Sand Gnats.
