Salazar's Inside-The-Parker Lifts Bulls 5-4
With one out in the 10th, Salazar sliced a liner inside the left field line, then the ball kicked into the Indians bullpen and wound up deep under the bullpen bench. Alex Presley reached for the ball twice and missed as Salazar rounded second base. With the play still live and Presley looking at the umpire, Salazar re-started toward third and continued running home as Presley finally pulled the ball out and fired late toward home plate.
The Bulls (23-31) spotted the Indians a 4-0 lead in the first inning when Jeff Larish tripled into the right field corner against starter Shane Dyer, who had allowed a one-out double and two walks.
However, the Bulls stormed back against Justin Wilson in the sixth inning, scoring four to tie the game. Shawn O'Malley reached on a one-out infield single and Jesus Feliciano walked. As Henry Wrigley fanned, the Bulls executed a double steal, with catcher Jose Morales' throw deflected into centerfield to score O'Malley. Leslie Anderson dropped a single to right-center to bring Feliciano home to cut the deficit to 4-2. The Indians made a pitching change bringing in Jose Diaz, who allowed a game-tying homer to Juan Miranda on an 0-2 pitch.
Dyer worked five innings for the Bulls in his third Triple-A start, allowing three hits, five walks and four runs. Romulo Sanchez and Brandon Gomes (W, 4-0) pitched two scoreless innings, with Dane DeLaRosa (S, 6) notching his sixth save.
O'Malley led the Bulls' seven-hit attack, going 3-5.
The Bulls, now 3-2 on their 10-game road trip, aim for the series split with Indianapolis on Thursday night at 7:05 PM ET with Matt Torra (4-5, 5.01) starting against Jeff Karstens, making his second major league rehab outing for Pittsburgh.
